Letter of 26 dollars to remedy off season pheasant
A repentant hunter in Altoona sends $26 to Seth Gordon, game commission secretary, for a ring neck pheasant shot out of season in 1921. He refused to reveal his identity and did not sign the letter, postmarked Altoona. The note states the payment is to make right the offense. The Board of Public Grounds and Buildings met with full membership, considering bids for state supplies and leases for office space. State Treasurer Snyder attended. An opinion by William A Schnader says the Industrial Board cannot suspend labor laws and may implement rules generally, without targeting any single case. The state general fund balance at June end was 1,755,343 and total funds 22,524,784.
