He died Monday night at his home after a long Rossmoyne residence and previously lived in Punxsutawney. Surviving are his widow Sara Elizabeth and five sons Boyd Paul Leonard Russell Ward, plus a granddaughter Naomi Mas Elkin, five brothers and a sister.

Double Funeral for Truck Victims in Pennsylvania
Coroner A W Doseth of Armstrong county today scheduled an inquest into the deaths of Lawrence Pignani 38 Ehrenfeld Cambria county and his 10 year old daughter Dorothy killed when struck by a coal truck as they stood alongside their wrecked car after a collision on the Shelocta Apollo road near South Bend Armstrong county. The inquest will be held in South Bend at 2 p m Saturday. Lloyd Strayer 31 Claysboro Blair county driver for the truck was placed under arrest and charged with involuntary manslaughter by state highway patrolmen. He is held in Armstrong county jail at Kittanning. Double funeral services for the victims will be held at 10 a m Friday in St Simon and Jude s Roman Catholic Church Blairsville with burial in St Simon and Jude s Cemetery. The bodies were taken today to the home of Mrs Pignani s Andria da Cox near Homer City for several years we ve been chief machinist for the Pennsylvania Coal and Coke Corporation at its operations at Esri shield near South Fork. His widow is the only surviving relative. The 10 year old daughter was their only child. Plenant and his daughter were killed a few minutes after their car had collided with a machine driven by J Carl Mumson 27 near Clymer which was traveling in the opposite direction.
