Butler players beaten in Pennsylvanian crowd incident

In Pennsylvania, Butler players were attacked leaving a game as Guntherland fieldman Ross Kaley struck dine Sapp over the head with two bats. A mob of about 200 formed, manager Troy of Butler was injured, numerous arrests were made, and Sapp remained in critical condition at a hospital.

Akrot fined after horsewhipping Miss Haurey at hotel

Akrot of Mrs. Georgia Goodwin was fined ten dollars and costs after she horsewhipped Miss Dell Haurey, bookkeeper for Don A. Goodwin, landlord of the Buchtel hotel. Haurey may sue for heavy damages as the case drew a hysterical reaction. Operation for cancer succeeds. Dr William J White of Philadelphia, who operated at St Marys hospital on June 25, is rapidly recovering.
