Youthful motorcyclist dies in Creekside accident
Sherman V. Shank, 20, of Bradford formerly of Chambersville, was killed when his motorcycle failed to navigate a curve on Route 110 in Creekside and overturned. His companion Carl B. Hankinson, 23, of Chambersville, was injured with possible fractures and lacerations. The crash occurred at 6 15 p m Saturday. Shank died of a broken neck. the couple’s machine struck a stone and slid into a parked car owned by Edward Dixson.

Man Stabbed While Forcibly Entering Home Near Cherry Tree
William Carlton, 28, of Barnesboro, was stabbed in the abdomen by Blair Leamer when Carlton tried to force entry into Leamer’s Burnside Township home near Cherry Tree, Clearfield County, around 2:30 a.m. Carlton is in fair condition at Miners Hospital, and Leamer’s family was inside the house during the incident. Officials expect to question Carlton once his condition allows.
