Cattle In Louisiana Lack Water After Audrey

Cameron area cattlemen and officials appealed for fresh water supplies as 50 000 to 70 000 cattle perished or were stranded by Hurricane Audrey. Portable pumps were arranged to supply water to survivors, with 15 000 to 20 000 cattle at risk in Cameron parish. If water isn’t secured within three days, up to 60 percent could die.

O Brien Daughter Weds Teacher In LA Ceremony

Margaret Mavourneen O'Brien, 23, daughter of Pat O'Brien, married Maximilian David Garten, 24, a South Gate Junior High teacher, at St Martin de Tours. The couple honeymooned in Los Angeles. Miss O'Brien has taught at Baldwin Park Elementary after Loyola University master’s degree.
