It notes travel to New York City Philadelphia Blairsville Manor and Johnstown with marriages and student visits, plus guests Lieut Thomas A Beaver and Sergeant Major Jeran Watson at the Watson home.
Dr Sangerbond of Paris first linked dandruff to a microbe and Parisian Sage is advertised as a sanitary remedy sold widely for 20 cents a bottle to stop itching and prevent baldness. The ad chemists tout its perfume and hair growth, guaranteed by T and Hildebrand. Also notes Greenwich Coal & Coke bonds redeemable April 1, 1910. The Savings & Trust Co of Indiana Penna warns against opiate cough remedies and promotes Foley's Honey and Tar as a safe alternative.

Mr. Jones' wife died in April 1908 and as far as known he has no living relatives in this country. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Chas. F. Carll at his late residence Tuesday afternoon Jan. 25. Interment was made in the Burnside cemetery. Samuel Donahue, one of the oldest residents of Dixonville, died Monday Jan. 24 of a complication of diseases at age 83. He is survived by his wife and four sons and three daughters. Interment was made at Twolick church Wednesday. Charles Pranen Brown died at his home in Blairsville Tuesday Jan. 26 aged 25. Services were held in St. Simon and Jude's church Thursday morning and interment in the Catholic cemetery. The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.

Rosie Frantz, three, daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Frantz of Rosai ter, died Monday January 17 from organic heart trouble.

In a London Tit Bits excerpt a teacher pushes a boy to be truthful with comic misunderstandings about wordplay and a visit, ending with the boy’s blank, pondering expression as the moral sinks in despite the effort to tell the truth.
A garbled 19th century style exchange shows a family joke about portions at a meal. The line hints at a boy named Tommy answering his father about which chicken part to take, noting a preference when visitors are present.
