Samuel B Mikeselly aged 73 died of influenza like illness on Friday night at Riley farm north of New Florence. Widow Mrs Milesall preceded him. six children survive including three daughters. Burial at United Presbyterian cemetery Blairsville. Joseph Henry Myers of Tanoma died suddenly of heart failure age 86. Survived by wife, one son William H Myers and one daughter Mrs John Byers. Funeral Tuesday 10 am Tanoma graveyard. Sarah Smith widow of Tate Henry Smith of Canoe township died Friday Jan 25 of typhoid fever age 53. Survived by large family. Burial Union cemetery Rossiter Sunday 10 am.

Patrick Ward, about 45, was arrested at Saybrook Junction on an attempted shooting charge involving Mrs. Tony Appo of Blackhall. Appo was taken to a New London hospital in a dying condition after a bullet pierced her abdomen. Ward, described as demented, claimed the incident was a public safety matter and cited a supposed secret code of women. He later described entering through a window while her husband was away and was found with pawn checks and a bankbook.
