Indiana County reports its first winter fatality of the freeze at Miners Hospital in Spangler. 82 year old Fred Benjamin Piper of Cherry Tree RD 2 died of exposure after hospital admission. Paul W. Jeffries former county sheriff plans to present the last noose at the Indiana County Jail to the Historical and Genealogical Society at the upcoming society meeting.
