Pre-School Mass Poisoning In Sharpsburg Sends 42
Thirty nine children and three nuns were sickened by carbon monoxide fumes during a pre school Mass at Madonna of Jerusalem Church in Sharpsburg. Victims were treated at three hospitals. a stuffed chimney is blamed. Sister Mary Emile, school principal, among those affected. Local police assisted with ambulances and city officers.

A U S Air Force C123 transport carrying 46 Americans and mortar shells crashed shortly after takeoff from An Khe in dense fog and rain. All aboard died. The plane from the 315th Air Commando Group carried 42 soldiers of the 7th Cavalry and four crew members.
