US and USSR agree on cooperative satellite tests

NASA announced plans for a historic joint experiment with the Soviet Union using a communications satellite. No date was set, but readiness was voiced. Nine Die In Alabama Tornado

A tornado struck Harpersville Alabama killing at least nine people in a community of about 1000 as rescuers found multiple victims including Betty McCall and her children Michael and Mitchell and Kathy Brewer. Others named were Ed Virginia and Essie Mae Kelley and Cheryl Kelley died later in hospital.

Lawyer Honored by Pennsylvania Bar Association

The Pennsylvania Bar Association awarded 77 year old William T. Schnader of Philadelphia its distinguished service award for leadership in jurisprudence and justice administration including work toward a revised Pennsylvania constitution.
