Two Dead in Foggy Pittsburgh Area Crashes
Heavy fog and rain caused two deaths in the Pittsburgh district with eight others injured, three seriously. One victim, George Fatula, 38, of Ernest, died after a hit and run on the Ohio River boulevard near the McKees Rocks triangle. A Bellevue witness said Fatula may have been struck by a westbound bus as fog reduced visibility. Fatula worked at Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal in Ernest and was born in 1911 in Czecho-Slovakia. Funeral arrangements were set in Ernest Catholic Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa Condron follow a four day illness at her Home in Home.

An 11-year-old boy, William Mumau, son of Judson Mumau, was injured when a Chevrolet coach driven by Louise Wood struck him on Oakland avenue opposite West End school, at 8:15 this morning. He was near the State Teachers College campus when the bus stopped to discharge passengers and he darted into the traffic lane into the car’s path.
