Reverend James A. Melvin of Cathedral Parish Altoona died at Mercy Hospital Johnstown at 1 18 PM after a month long illness from uremia. Born February 27 1897 in Cambria City he studied at St Columba's and St Francis College and was ordained February 27 1921. He served as assistant at St John Altoona later becoming parish administrator and head of Cathedral Parish. The body was viewed in Johnstown and Altoona before funeral services Thursday with interment in Grandview Cemetery.
