Los Angeles report says actor D Arcy and his wife Wie former Taunt Rhine peck Duffy have split again. Attorney notes D Arcy will not be responsible for his wife's debts and plans a divorce action. Reason for separation not disclosed.
Four men were buried when a mine fall trapped them this week. Harold Van Sickle 30 James Sunny Charles 21 and William McAndrew 30 remained underground for hours while rescuers dug. Will McAndrew was later rescued after his brother Patrick was saved earlier. Rev Father Langan administered absolution before the final rescue.

Washington January 22 The Department of Justice's appropriations are raised by more than 3.7 million dollars for the next fiscal year to speed law enforcement and fund prison reform efforts. The plan adds over 2 million for prison industries and 475 thousand for crime detection and prosecution. A 266,800 pay boost for assistant attorneys and higher funds for clerks and marshals are included as part of a total department allotment of 113,709,286. Navigational facilities funding totals 7,644,000 to expand the airway system.
J E Thompson of Blairsville the Thirty third Rotary district governor opened the event praising the district spirit and Rotary affiliations while promising indulgences for contributions to Rotary International. President Newsom, famed for his global reach, was introduced by President Smith as energizing Rotary with youth and vigor.

Andrew Mellon testified before the House on January 22 that moving national prohibition enforcement from the Treasury to the Department of Justice would improve results. He called keeping enforcement in the Treasury illogical and unrelated to tax duties, arguing Justice handles criminal prosecutions.

A New York Central Limited train struck a bus carrying 15 to 20 children on an unguarded crossing near Berea. She leaves her parents three sisters Jennie Anna Elizabeth and two brothers Tony and Andrew all at home Funeral and interment at St Bernard s Church and Cemetery in St Bernard s Cemetery follows Friday morning.
