At a triennial New Orleans convention Bishop Mann notes many married clergymen voted to drop the word obey from the ceremony. He says newspapers misrepresented conditions, arguing the change was justified as the term is unnecessary and superfluous.
A group of men arrested in Indiana faced charges for unpaid goods. Deputy Wilson was notified by Mr Stapleton who agreed not to prosecute if the merchandise was paid for. With no money, the men returned the goods and were allowed to depart. They claimed origin from Endicott New York en route to Scranton for work.
Elizabeth New Jersey January 22 Seret Schmidt on the eve of retirement made his first arrest in 17 years when he placed Allan Randolph behind the barn on a charge of being drunk and disorderly. Schmidt was to retire on pension next month and headquarters surprised to find no prior record of his arrests.
