NORFOLK AP The United Airlines Viscount struck a snow plow driven by Charlie Willie Jr 30 as it cleared the runway after four inches of snow. The plane tore into the plow trapping Willie for two hours. he suffered a broken knee and cuts while seven passengers aboard the flight from Washington sustained minor injuries. Captain Richard Melver piloted the Viscount to a normal landing with flurries falling as the plow sat at the runway edge. Passengers and stewardesses helped each other to safety via a canvas chute.
