Homer City Woman Survives 84,000-Pound Truck Rampage
Catherine Taylor narrowly escaped serious harm yesterday as a 84,000 pound steel truck driven by Joseph H. O Neil of Youngstown broke loose on Route 56. The vehicle hit a parked car driven by W J Crisman before crashing into the rear of Ruth Ellis home where Taylor spoke on a Pittsburgh telephone. Police say the truck carried an overload of 3800 pounds and the driver maneuvered to avoid the Ellis front and strike the rear instead. The crash was witnessed by residents and photographed for page one.
