Ex FBI Agent Monitored Conversations

New York AP report: former FBI agent Robert N. Wall says he was assigned to monitor telephone conversations at the Israeli Embassy in Washington during the 1967 Arab-Israeli war, and that the Egyptian embassy was monitored too. He details FBI and IRS practices, including informant placement, anonymous letters, and efforts to disrupt radical groups. Wall now studies law and plans to move his family to a Nova Scotia farm.

DDT Use Reduction Sought

The government launches a multimillion-dollar pest control program to cut DDT and other chemicals. Led by Agriculture, EPA, and NSF, it blends chemical, biological, and cultural methods to help farmers, starting with cotton. $2.25 million will fund on-farm efforts and $3.5 million for expanded research this year.

State Seeks Used Plane for Gov Shapp in Weather Limited Flights

Harrisburg AP reports Pennsylvania seeks a used all weather aircraft to replace Gov Shapp’s five seater for clear weather flights. Bids are being received on used aircraft with price expectations ranging from under 500 thousand to near one million dollars. The Beechcraft currently in service has flown 500 thousand accident free miles and is based at Capital City Airport in New Cumberland.

Farm Show director Horace Mann faces dismissal plan

Crawford County to Appeal 50th District Reapportionment
