Handwriting expert John F Tyrell testified in Flemington New Jersey that Bruno Richard Hauptmann wrote the fourteen Lindbergh ransom notes. He said after forty years in the field he could certify the handwriting as produced by one man, based on notes, Hauptmanns penmanship and related writings. The witness concluded the ransom notes and other writings were by Hauptmann, with further testimony to follow.

Four Blairsville Defendants Sentenced to Workhouse
Judge J. N. Langham yesterday sentenced four Blairsville district defendants after guilty pleas from those who waived grand jury action. Penders and McIntire, both from Blairsville, received six months to a year in the Allegheny county workhouse after pleading guilty to larceny for stealing chickens. Hurt of Burrell township drew three to six months in the workhouse for assault and battery. Lawrence of Black Lick faced three months in the county jail after pleading guilty to breaking and entering and threatening the McCracken family. Pender, McIntire and Hurt were sent to the workhouse this morning by Sheriff Wilson and Deputy Borland.
