New York January 16 Mayor Gaynor and Long Islander editor Charles B Shepherd rode to his country home at St James. Snowdrifts halted trains near Hicksville forcing a perilous walk toward town. On a trestle Shepherd collided with the mayor and fell. Shepherd possibly broke both legs. Gaynor narrowly avoided the same fate.
Chicago reports state Miss Antoinette Eizabeth Gazzaralis paid Marshall Clark fifty thousand dollars in a settlement of a one hundred fifty thousand dollar alienation suit. The settlement was said to be effected in New York this week.
A report cites Mrs. Clark agreeing to a cash settlement with her counsel, with no further court action. The price is alleged to be about one third of the amount she originally demanded.
