New York Transit Strike Ends After 13 Days
New York Mayor John V. Lindsay announced a mediators settlement ending a multi million dollar subway and bus strike that lasting 13 days. By dawn 3 200 buses were running and the shuttle line resumed service. The two year contract for 34 400 workers covers 52 million dollars with wage disputes scaled back from initial demands.

After two days of testimony the civil suit between Mr and Mrs Eustis Brandon of Homer City and the Peoples Natural Gas Co was settled out of court yesterday at the end of the plaintiff's presentation by attorney W Thomas Malcolm. A 7500 dollar settlement was agreed to and the case concluded. The action stemmed from a 1961 explosion in the Brandon home.
