Mrs Minnie Nerhood of Altoona Pennsylvania gets back eight thousand seven hundred forty three dollars found on a Los Angeles streetcar by Oscar Van Patten of Coldwater Michigan. He turned it to police who traced the owner through her son Harry Nerhood a Whittier College professor. The money was to be saved for her husband and to buy a home when he retires next year. Nerhood plans to reward the finder.

D W Simpson Civic Leader Dies After Long Public Service
D W Simpson a longtime civic leader with a distinguished Indiana military record died. Elected first lieutenant in 1885 and captain in 1890, he organized Co B of the 21st regiment in 1898 for the Spanish American War though not called. He later served as a major and volunteered for World War service but was not accepted due to age. Friends may visit Robinson's 36 N 7th St after 7 PM today with services Thursday January 15 at 3 PM conducted by Rev D K Graham. Interment in Oakland Cemetery.
