Free Library Reports Strong 1927 Year With Growth
The Indiana Free Library's 1927 report shows over 10 000 more books read than 1926 and 20 000 more than 1925. Total circulation reached 30 998 volumes with fines and rentals bringing in 379 17. The borough boosted its appropriation to 3 000 plus 300 from County Commissioners. Periodicals came from New Century Club, which also aided expenses. A K Lowry supplied a complete file of the Indians Times while Heath Clark donated over 100 contemporary novels. The Patrons Fund, started last year and backed by 15 supporters, financed much of the new fiction.
