The Indiana Evening Gazette is published daily except Sunday by the Indiana Publishing Company. Office and printing plant are in the New Gazette Building on Carpenter Avenue, Indiana, Pa. It is entered in the Indiana post office as Second Class Mail Matter.

Washington January 12 President Gompers of the American Federation of Labor says it would be improper to levy assessments given industrial depression and unemployment. Washington Jan. 12 The house rivers and harbors committee again failed to reach a conclusion on reporting a general rivers and harbors bill this session. A majority favors a measure to appropriate about 10,000,000 for surveys emergencies and maintenance of ongoing projects. The committee will reconvene Saturday to try to decide, but it is practically certain no general bill will be reported.
