Hazardous Driving In Most Areas
A general rise in temperatures eased the plight of Pennsylvania motorists today but six people were killed in ice glazed road crashes. Western Pennsylvania had freezing rain until the morning melt, yet driving remained hazardous in many areas. The worst wreck occurred near Allentown on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike when a car skidded across a median into another vehicle. Benjamin Brook, driver, and Paul Springer, 38, of Philadelphia, were killed. Richard Evans, 50, of Coaldale, his wife Isabelle, 50, and Jane Herring were injured.
