The Flying Enterprise sank in the Atlantic after a 14 day battle with the sea. Captain Kurt Carlsen and First Mate Kenneth Dancy were rescued by the tow Tug Turmoil after leaping from the freighter. The 6711 ton ship carried 40 crew and 10 passengers when it went down following a Christmas Day hurricane.
