Harrisburg Jan 10 Chief Justice Robert Frazer of the State Supreme Court will administer the oath to Governor elect George H. Earle next Tuesday. A 200000 crowd is expected. 190 Democratic Congressmen will attend per Senator Gulley via Guy Swope. The inaugural stand nears completion as the first Democratic governor in 40 years takes office.

Presbytery Dissolves Pastoral Relationships

Obituary of J Carlisle Shaffer Punxsutawney Man 77
J Carlisle Shaffer died Thursday evening at his Punxsutawney home after a two month illness at age 77. Born in Covode he married Elizabeth Hoch in 1887. He worked as a blacksmith at the Adrian mine and for railroads, last employed by B O at the Punxsutawney roundhouse. Survived by widow two sons Fred and Lyle two brothers Jacob Falls Creek and Osborne Grange and sister Mrs Elizabeth Painter Rochester Mills. Funeral at his home Friday at 2 pm with burial in Greenwood cemetery Rev Fulton in charge.

The 80th Division formed at Camp Lee Virginia in 1917 trained until May 1918 then shipped to France arriving by June 1 1918. It fought on the Artois front near Arras with British brigades July 28 to August 18 1918 and was in reserve at St Mihiel September 12 to 14. It attacked Bethincourt September 26 29 and advanced nine kilometers in two days. It fought at Nantillois October 4, to Meuse Argonne actions through late October and early November. The unit moved to Ancy le France March 1919 for inspection by General Pershing and returned home later.
