Local Woman Loses Parents in Sudden Tragedy
Saverio German died Sunday evening and his wife Rosa followed about 15 minutes later from a heart attack fueled by grief. Both, aged 65 and 64 respectively, lay in state at 381 Pine Street awaiting burial in a common grave Thursday. The couple, long ill but active yesterday, had lived in Punxsutawney since 1889 with Sam known for decades among friends. Rosa had suffered bronchitis for years. The tragedy is noted after their son Frank found the father unconscious and a doctor declared him dead.

Removing Tracks On N Sixth Street In City
Street Commissioner H A Over ry a crew of CWA workers began removing the street car track on North Sixth Street from Chestnut toward Philadelphia. They will remove rails and ties fill the bed with ashes relay bricks and raise and relay brickwork along the street with holes or bumps. The cost to taxpayers will be negligible as fuel is CWA funded and materials are inexpensive. Much of the old brick will be reused requiring only a small number of new bricks. The Sixth Street north area has long been in poor condition and residents and motorists welcome the work. The Young Men's Bible Class of the First United Presbyterian Church will meet at 7 30 this evening to go to the home of the late S H McHenry cars are requested.
