Chicken Thief Caught Here In Local Arrest
George Anderson arrested W M Frye of 549 South Twelfth street for larceny of chickens. Frye pled guilty before Justice Jay D Hill and was jailed in default of 200 bail. He was caught along the B R and P tracks carrying a bulging coat after 13 chickens were stolen from Joe Ferguson 1201 School street. The incident occurred around 10 30 this morning during a police investigation. The officer pursued Frye, who fled, then halted him and found a package under his coat. 17 Year Old Held in Pa Train Wreck Case
Luther Mazur, 17, of Ebensburg, Pa., arrested near his home in Cresson for tampering with a freight train’s braking system tied to derailments in Western Pennsylvania. The case followed a well attended farewell at the Pennsylvania Railway station and a search by police continues.
