Federal alcohol raid nets 1500 gallon still in Pennsylvania
Federal agents raided an auburben Torresdale area farm and seized a 1500 gallon still. Four men were arrested Joseph Gryzninsky 47 operator of the farm his son Stanley 23 and two Trenton New Jersey men Fred Tuccillo 27 and Andrew Astolfi 24. Authorities report six 80000 gallon vats 2500 pounds of sugar 780 gallons of melasses and 78 five gallon vats of alcohol found in the cellar. The operation was said to have run six weeks distributing alcohol in Pennsylvania New Jersey and New York in trucks disguised as vegetable carriers.

Injured Students From Indiana State Teachers College
An automobile driven by William Greiner skidded on ice near Knoxdale and struck a tree injuring two Indiana State Teachers College students, while a separate coasting accident at the college lodge in Whitetonship left several others hurt. Leonard Freed escaped uninjured, and Greiner had only minor abrasions. Harry Grandinetti dislocated his hip, Rebecca Greenley suffered sprains and bruises. Grandinetti received X rays then went home. Greenley remained in the college infirmary awaiting release.

Ten-year-old Mary Alice Limberg sent to girls' school
In Athens on January 8 a judge ordered the four-day marriage of 10 year old Mary Alice Limberg to coal miner Charles Schall 21 annulled. Mary Alice said she would study to be a better wife and remarry Schall once both are free. Schall begins a one-year Nelsonville jail term and Mary Alice is sent to the Ohio Girls Industrial School near Delaware. Mrs Hudnall, the child's stepmother, is jailed for one year for falsifying the daughter’s age on the license.
