Blairsville Soldiers Wounded In Action

Two Blairsville servicemen are reported wounded Captain Marvini C Mee and Lt L Glenn Moorhead both from Blairsville. Captain Mee was described as slightly wounded with details limited in a letter to his parents Mr and Mrs D R McKee. Lt Moorhead, in Germany, was also reported slightly wounded per word to his wife. Their family roots include three other sons serving in the armed forces Ward Wyther in Southern France Sgt Clarence in Mary and Pvt Ralph in Camp Blanding Florida.

Snowbound Erie Plies 300 Soldiers To Clear Drifts

ERIE Pa Jan 6 Three hundred soldiers aided Erie County in removing snowdrifts up to six feet deep this winter. The emergency halted roads and delayed war goods valued at over 3 million dollars. Col Lucius Crumrine led the relief with 100 more troops expected and additional snow equipment promised.

Indiana County farmers plan to attend the winter Farm Show meetings at Harrisburg next week. The Pennsylvania Jersey Cattle Club meeting and luncheon will be presided by Clyde Mc Conaughy. M. C. Five Years For Evading Draft

Merril T. Dutton, 20, of West Chester, was sentenced to five years in the penitentiary by a Federal Court jury after being found guilty of evading the draft. Dutton, a self described minister of a religious sect, had been classified as a conscientious objector. FBI agents testified he failed to report at a work camp in Oregon on orders from his draft board.
