County brief records Miss Kinter a teacher in Cherrytree spent Sunday with friends here. Miss Alice Mumau and Miss Annie Fyock visited in Penn Run over Sunday. Steele Ober was a visitor in Clymer Saturday. Mr and Mrs W G Lockara of Clymer spent the week end with relatives here. Rev Smith of East Mahoning preached here Sunday. An important church meeting was held at the Diciple church here last Saturday evening. Many of the young people of this place spent a delightful evening Friday at the home of Rev Smith of East Mahoning. Miss Katharyne Kerr was the guest of friends here Thursday.

Smith Black from near Chambersville visits aunt Katharine Russel. Marie Blakeley stays with Myr. Amos Wande visits near Plumville. Mr. and Mrs. John Monks of Martins Ferry Ohio host guests. James St Clair and daughter Helen plus Carl St Chair from Indiana and Edward St Chair with son from Pittsburgh are entertained at Mrs Sarah Fleming’s home for New Year. Lawrence Robinson near Jacksonville calls on Mr and Mrs Samuel Kerr. Todd Rankin improves from measles as Frank Kimmel plans activities next Friday. RS Weeming returns to Philadelphia after a week at home. The Grange installation is held with Mr Hamilton in charge. Clara Stahl of Indiana visits relatives David Carnahan. Charles Kerr and family visit M. B. Miller. Vernon Edwards leaves for University of Pittsburgh after vacation at home. Minnie Gibson accompanies Virginia Miller, and William Wissinger leaves for Vandergrift to work in mills.
William Good spent days in Indiana with Hugh M Bell. Mrs W G Rarabaugh visits Locust Lane home. Mrs B F Clog an Indiana caller Thursday. A Christmas program at the Christian church on New Year’s Eve by about 34 Sabbath school members crowded the church. Santa visited children and distributed treats. A New Year’s Eve party at Dr B I Coe’s home had 12 guests. Miss Peterman of Cherry Tree was guest of honor.
Penn Run society notes recount Hannah Bence's knee injury after a fall. Mr and Mrs Meville Coy visited friends and returned home. A high school Friday night entertainment drew many attendees. Numerous visits and family happenings follow, including Court jury duties, college visits, and residents traveling between Indiana and Clymer. Regular church services are planned for next Sunday at East Mahoning Baptist.

Crawford leaves a widow, several children and two sisters Mes Joseph Houston and Mes Johnston of Chestnut Street. McClellan leaves a husband and children Ora K McClellan Jason Mclellan of Druwright Okla and Harry McClellan of Knox Pa. Interment was in Knox on Saturday.
Lord Derby's report shows 641,160 single men did not volunteer while 2,184,979 were arrested. Only 124,100 are fit for field service, with 25,445 enlisted men lacking a physical exam. Net available single men are 1, not yet precise. The lower than expected totals prompted a modified conscription plan.
The Ascensive Committee of the United States Golf Association announced adding Kent Country Club of Grand Rapids Michigan to the list of courses to be presented at the Opening Championship meeting in 101.
The Civic Committee hosts a Booklovers Carnival at the Municipal Building on Monday evening January 17 at 7:50. Attendees dress as a book and guess titles to win prizes. admission is ten cents with a social time afterward. The event honors Mrs. da B. Smith and Lightcapplee for their support and bulbs donation.

Contracts inked for Pittsburgh and Syracuse appearances. date to be set, likely May. Adds another link in the two universities athletic series, with Pitt and Syracuse also planning a Leach contest.
Daniel Worcester known as the original Worle Tom of Uncle Tom's Cabin died at the Vermont Soldiers' Home at eighty two. He claimed to be the last survivor of the company that produced the drama first staged in Lowell Massachusetts in 1851. He served in the Civil War with the Twenty Seventh Connecticut regiment.
