Election forecaster nets inaugural seats in Harrisburg

William D. Alcorn, a retired Wilkes-Barre supermarket supervisor, earned two box seats at the inaugural ball after accurately predicting Gov elect William W. Scranton’s total vote. His guess of 2,245,000 matched the official 2,424,918 certified by the state elections bureau. The contest, run by the Republican State Committee, drew about 2,000 entries.
