Dr and Mrs Robert Wray Sr of Shady Plain marked their one year anniversary of a golden wedding with a private dinner after illness delayed celebration. Attending were six guests who witnessed the 50 year union of Martha G Grey and Robert Wray Sr, married by Rev Alexander Donaldson of the Kiskiminetas valley. The couple, long residents of Shady Plain, have five daughters and three sons. Wray served in the Civil War, taking part in Morgan’s capture and the Gettysburg fight.

Graham church burned near Smithport after services
The Graham Covenanter church in Banke township near Smithport was destroyed by fire on Sabbath night about 10 30. The new church built in 1908 and dedicated January 1909 was a memorial from James Graham to his parents. The loan stood at 3500 dollars and the building will be rebuilt.

Old Boatman's Days are Ended
Robert T. McMeans of Elderaridge died suddenly Wednesday of apoplexy at his son-in-law and daughter’s Johnstown home. Born January 18, 1827, he worked on the Pennsylvania Canal 1841 1855 and later at Cambria Tron Company until ill health prompted retirement. He served as a private in Company D First Pennsylvania Reserves Light Artillery during the Civil War. His second wife and eight children survive. funeral held today with interment at Sandyvale Cemetery in Johnstown.
