Blairsville Chamber of Commerce officials announced that the $35 000 in cumulative preferred stocks for the Blairsville plant have been oversubscribed. A conference of chamber leaders and incorporators was set to organize the operating company, with repairs starting January 1 and about 200 workers to be hired within 60 days. A trustee board will hold funds until conditions are met, then transfer stock to subscribers.

Fire destroys cottage near Old Ebensburg Inn
A fire yesterday afternoon completely consumed the Kelly Cottage adjacent to the Old Ebensburg Inn. The Ebensburg Trust Company owned the cottage which was only partly furnished and occupied by Inn servants. all furniture was removed prior to the blaze with little damage to the interior belongings.

Plead Guilty To Robbery Charge Involving Dairy Worker
Nathan Zacharias and Roland Dasslets pled guilty to highway robbery larceny of a automobile pointing firearms and concealed weapons violations after a Christmas morning hold up of Frank Sedmeyer, a Sanitary Dairy employee, as he traveled from Johnstown to Indiana. They were jailed without bail following arraignments before Justice Jay D. Hill. State Police traced the suspects to Lewistown two hours after the crime. Zacharias had fled from East after wrecking a stolen car and the pair indicated they traveled from Blairsville toward Homer City before stopping Sedmeyer at the Homer City Johnstown road.

A stove overheated in a kitchen caused a fire that destroyed two Gipsy homes and damaged a third. Tack Webster’s one story house and belongings were lost except a washing machine and chair. Ford violation charges not supported by affidavit says Johnson
Recovery Administrator Hugh Johnson announced charges of a Ford Motor Company violation but said they were not supported by affidavit. Trains Collision injures passengers near San Bernardino
Scores of passengers were shaken and bruised when two eastbound passenger trains the Santa Fe Chief and the Union Pacific Limited derailed after a collision near San Bernardino California. Among the injured were Arigna Wesley Ruggles and Harriet a mail clerk. Railroad officials said the Chief struck the Limited after side coupling and derailed the locomotive and two pylimens.
