The U N Command reports at least 450 American soldiers died in North Korean prison camps. This figure, 77 percent of those imprisoned in rear areas, is not on the communist living prisoner list. The Reds claim 11,559 prisoners. 571 Americans said to have died from disease or air and artillery attacks are not in that list. Brig Gen William P Nuckols says this is the first confirmed deaths in prison camps.

News from New York reports Johnny Yuha, paralyzed since the November accident in the Elders Ridge versus Bell Township game, has improved. A NYU Bellevue Medical Center spokesman said his chances for life are much improved and he has been removed from the critical list. He moved his shoulder and upper arm yesterday for the first time since the operation on December 12 to ease spinal cord pressure. Hospital cautions against optimism as movement was expected, but coach Ray Phillips said Yuha looks pretty good and has feeling about mid chest. He will be moved to a ward with other partially paralyzed men.
