75 000 Apply for 1931 Auto Plates in Harrisburg
Seventy five thousand applications for 1931 license plates were revived by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles yesterday, officials announced. Through Christmas, 2374 cars had been licensed out of about 1,590,000 state vehicles this year, compared with 812,401 a year ago. Commercial licenses show a strong rise with 328,550 issued to date versus 127,464 last year. Many applicants queued in the drizzle as lines formed at the bureau and across the city.
