A Shelocta man, 1900 born, died by suicide after an overnight bag with clothing for his wife and children was found. Neighbors reported heavy drinking and alleged infidelity. Local youths injured as car hits engine on coal line
The Indiana Branch to Coral operations line of Potter Coal and Coke Co saw a wreck after a car struck a locomotive. Train crew freed the injured youths and they were admitted to hospital around 10 15 p m. Florence Craig 18 of Aultman was hospitalized for a broken nose and shock after a motor vehicle crash. Mrs H C Hawksworth of Nant-y-Glo sustained minor injuries in a Franklin Highway collision near Ebensburg while riding with her son Harry R Hawksworth. Verna Trinkley 28 of Heilwood suffered a serious skull fracture when a hill crash on the Franklin Highway sent their car into a tree. she was taken to Miners Hospital in Spangler. William Trinkley 44 was treated for facial lacerations and shock and released. Ebensburg detachment noted the machine zigzagged up a hill a mile west of Ebensburg.
