Walking Along Highway Injuries Fatal To Coral Woman
An 81 year old Coral woman, Mary Chutorich Nemic, was fatally struck by a northbound car on Route 119 in Coral at 5:35 p.m. Saturday. She died at Indiana Hospital at 7:40 p.m. from cardiac arrest and multiple injuries. The driver was 37 year old Jack R. Rummel of Blairsville RD 2. She had lived in Black Lick 60 years and leaves two daughters and two sons, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are at Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, with Rosary Tuesday and Mass Wednesday at St Francis Church, Graceton. Interment SS.Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.

Wife Charged After Eagles Lineman Stabbed to Death
Blackwood New Jersey police say Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Brenda Gay was fatally stabbed in his apartment early today. His wife Roxanne Gay, 25, is charged with homicide and aggravated assault and battery. The couple’s domestic quarrel is cited by officials. The body of 26 year old Gay was removed from the home around 6:05 a.m. The victim’s daughter was reportedly in the apartment. Autopsy planned. Eagles officials expressed shock and paid tribute to Gay’s character and effort.

Former Indiana Resident Dies From Injuries
Michael Nastuck, a former Indiana resident, died Sunday at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh from injuries from an industrial accident on June 15, 1976. He was crushed by a machine while working for the Maintenance Department at the West Leechburg Works of Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp.

Indiana County commissioners accept the resignation of William Smith as county Civil Defense director. Smith was suspended in August on charges of failure to properly disposition funds. the charges were dismissed in court. He was reinstated December 17 and resigned December 31 after a two week vacation. He will receive back pay totaling 3807.31 dollars. Interviews for a replacement will be conducted and assistant director Roger Stivason will lead during the interim.

Three Rossiter Area Children Perish In Fire
A Rossiter area home fire killed three children of Mr and Mrs John Painter. Earl 16 Billa 15 and Margaret seven died at the scene while James 12 survived with burns and is at West Penn Hospital Pittsburgh. Mrs Painter and Earl’s father were treated for injuries. Fire chief Earl Schrock said alarm came in about 11 15 p m and neighbors tried rescue efforts. The house was fully involved on arrival. Bodies were moved to Pifer Funeral Home Punxsutawney. Funeral arrangements to be announced.
