Police searched today for a young man who abducted 99 year old Karen Sue Ambrass and took her for a ride before she escaped. She was walking from her home to school when dragged into a car and driven to an isolated spot where he tried to force attention on her. She freed herself and sought help at a nearby home.
At the NATO conference hundreds of reporters focus on President Eisenhower's health amid rumors. White House physician Major General Snyder and Secretary Hagerty say he is fine, though his appearance and timing at sessions raise concern.
The Indiana Borough Council and Indiana County Commissioners postponed the transfer of Jimmy Stewart Airport to allow a final meeting set for 5 p.m. tomorrow in Borough Council solicitor Thomas Barber's office to complete the field’s transfer. Duquesne Light Co announced United States first full sealed nuclear plant at Shippingport Pa. began feeding electricity into Duquesne lines today. Reactor along the Ohio River 25 miles northwest of Pittsburgh has generated power for customers in the region under Atomic Energy Commission supervision. Westinghouse built and installed the reactor. Duquesne will operate the plant.
Jol D. Paul, a former bivact construction engineer for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, acquitted of conspiracy charges last summer, retires on pension. The year-old engineer will receive $695,554 per month. He served three seats and three months with the commission and other state agencies.
