Snowy Indiana County Stalled as Snow Drifts Halt Traffic
A five to six inch snowfall crippled Indiana County traffic with motorists urged to stay off highways unless essential. Fourteen plows two graders eight cinder trucks and 24 wagonettes tried to clear main arteries but cinders were useless with continuous snowfall. Earl H Pfeiffer warned that even with chains driving was perilous. Railroads kept schedules though a spur was buried and gas demand rose. One accident occurred on Route 119 in Black Lick injuring a passenger. The cold snap preceded a statewide snowstorm forecast to bring three to eight inches.

Two Morals Convictions Lead To Prison Terms
Indiana County court wrapped the December term with Dwight B. Wilson, 29, of Emeigh receiving two to four years in Western Penitentiary for assault with intent to ravish, while a lesser assault and battery conviction was suspended. John L. Brinks, 35, of Homer RD was sentenced to six-and-a-half to thirteen years. Concurrent four to eight year terms for other morals convictions ran with an added two-and-a-half to five years for assault with intent to ravish.

Six Way Probe Underway In Plane Crash
A six agency probe is underway to determine the cause of a non scheduled airliner crash in Elizabeth New Jersey that killed 56 people. Officials from Elizabeth police Union County New Jersey Bureau of Aeronautics Essex County CAB and the Civil Aeronautics Administration met to plan the investigation. The Florida bound C 48 operated by Miami Airlines Inc crashed seven minutes after takeoff from Newark Airport into the crash site and a body remains missing.
