Ziggie Kitchen of near Saltsburg was charged by neighbor Joseph John Beitel with felonious shooting. He waived a hearing before Aquire C. C. McLain and was released on bail. Beitel said Kitchen fired a rifle shot hitting lint along the head, cutting the scalp and grazing the skull. A second hearing followed. John Mutehka of house 17 by Con Run, charged by Mike Shimsky of house 18 with larceny of 78 feet of garden hose, released after paying costs, returned hose, and settled with Shimsky.

Tragic Ice Deaths Strike Two Boys Near New Derry

At Mars near Butler a Baltimore & Ohio crossing collision claimed the lives of Mrs. Bess Kramer thirty six and a five year old girl. Investigators from the coroner's office continued their inquiry into how the second freight train was not seen as the auto paused to let the first freight pass.
