Pittsburgh December 16 Ins- Awarding of a contract for constructing 18 miles of the Connellsville Extension of the Pittsburgh and West Virginia Rail road announced by chief engineer Temple The $4 500 000 project covers roadbed and bridges from the Monongahela River near Bellefonte to near Scottdale including a Youghiogheny river bridge at Banning and a 1500 foot tunnel near Jacobs Creek Work to begin immediately with completion targeted for July 1 1980 The Yang Construction Company of Pittsburgh received the award.

Car Crashes Leave Several Hurt In Fog Saturated Roads
In Brookville and Reynoldsville areas a line of crashes injures multiple people after cars collide in fog on local roads. Robert Johnson, 17, dislocated his hip. Four Cars In Wreck West Of Reynoldsville
Four cars collided about five miles west of Reynoldsville on the Lakes to Sea Highway Saturday night at 11 15. Three others injured and three autos damaged. Harry Swab and son Edgar 18 of Reynoldsville were returning from Clinton when a truck slowed for a curve near Corsica. A second car towing the curve approached without lights and a mid road collision formed a V wreckage blocking the road. Swab and his son were hurt. Swab shouted for the second car's signal but could not warn in time.
