State Soil Conservation secretary visits Indiana
State official Davey A. Rimmel visited Indiana County District on Monday December 18 1948 for the monthly Directors meeting. Directors J Harold Gibson Jay B Dilts H A Nichol and Lloyd Rosensteel attended as representative of the County Commissioners and plans emerged for cooperation among the Soil Conservation Districts and state agencies. Agreements with the Soil Conservation Service the Pennsylvania Department of Forests and Waters the Pennsylvania Game Commission and an ongoing deal with the Department of Highways were outlined. Foresters Star Schmidt and Beam described farm forestry work in Clarion and Jefferson Salvations districts including a two run power saw crew for woodlot improvement at 6.50 per thousand.
