Five year old girl found frozen in Prestonsburg store

Rosella Auxier aged five was found unconscious and in shock in an abandoned Prestonsburg store after five days missing. Her legs were frozen hard and packed with ice to thaw. Doctors reported she had eaten a meal since disappearance and was not in pain.

Boy Confined After Thigh Gunshot Accident

Ernest Fairman, year-old son of Walter Fairman, is in serious condition at Indiana Hospital after being shot in the thigh while playing with a pistol in a cabin between Creekside and Five Points. He was admitted at 10:23 this morning.

California Mishap Kills Ex-Indiaman Dr. Fred Uber

Dr. Fred M. Uber of Indiana but in charge of the Navy Scientific Laboratory at San Diego was killed in an early morning auto crash on the Pasadena to San Diego highway. He was 52 and survived by his wife Alma and two sons Lloyd and Gordon along with several Indiana and California relatives. Interment will be in a San Diego cemetery.

Police Aid Youth With Love Problem

A Chicago seven year old and a four year old girl forged a Christmas wish into a police aided gift. Brian Soncrant sent five dollars to Police Commissioner Timothy O’Connor asking officers to buy Kathy a gray purring kitten with bell and red ribbon. Capt. Students Plan Missile Firing By University Group

A UT Texas student group plans to fire three rockets at a ranch near a south Texas town. The largest rocket stands nearly eight feet tall and weighs 120 pounds and is expected to reach about 12,000 feet altitude. A three pound electronic payload will gauge altitude and velocity. The Southwestern Rocket Society comprises chemistry physics and mathematics students. Also tonight Club Savoy hosts a dance by Jeytones.

Pittsburgh quartet die in private-plane crash

Authorities search a south Georgia swamp for a fourth body as wreckage from a private plane that carried Pittsburgh residents is found in water and mud near St. Marys.
