Edri residents charged after alleged shooting incident

D J Shearer said three Edri men Rosensteel Mc Laughlin and Painter forced him to shoot after a sheep dispute. Rosensteel allegedly trespassed on Shearer’s property on October 25 and was struck in a resulting clash. All four faced assault and battery related charges in Armstrong County justice court.

Pigtails leads junior class play at Clymer High School

CLYMER News reports that on Thursday and Friday December 14 and 15 the Junior Class stages a high school gym performance of the comedy Pigtails. The cast includes Charles Rainey Sally Kingston Mary Jane Hill Alice Gaston Edwin Beechey Joanne Marlin and others. Director Miss Mottey assisted by Miss Miner Miss McHenry and Miss McKrell. Ice closes roads as storm spreads through western Pa

The Pittsburgh Motor Club said crews worked to keep routes passable as rain turned to ice and cars crashed on a single street. An eight automobile pileup south of Butler was reported by state police. Snow blanketed Kane and Williamsport while Ebensburg logged over two inches. Temperatures dropped to 27 in Mercer with clear, colder conditions expected tonight and warmer weather tomorrow.

Night School Mathematics Offers 10 Week Course

Pittsburgh police report county treasurer William K Turner and his bonding company returned 62119.80 in delinquent tax fees amid embezzlement charges. Mahoning Dam Progress Report From United States Engineers

A December bulletin from the U S Engineers office in Pittsburgh shows Dravo Corporation completing 62 percent of common excavation, 75 percent of rock excavation, and 26 percent of concrete at Mahoning Creek dam. Baffles are being erected in the monolith, cofferdams to be removed next winter, and about 5800 cubic yards of concrete placed in the main dam and associated structures. Improvements at the public parking area and shelter house were also completed.
