Big Horn Sheep Died In Trap In California Desert
Blythe California AP report states that 33 desert bighorn sheep died over two years after drinking from an artificially fatal water hole in the Chocolate Mountains. Remains found in a natural rock trap, 10 to 12 feet deep. Officials warn thousands may have perished in the area west of the Colorado River. only about 40 sheep remain. State law protects bighorn sheep and mule deer in Mojave and Colorado deserts.
