Watergate figures still free as appeals loom

Washington AP reports Haldeman Ehrlichman and Mitchell remain free nearly a year after their Watergate cover up convictions. Appeals could delay any prison start as Supreme Court review looms after district court sentences set earlier this year. Oral arguments are scheduled for January as judges weigh stay and timing.

Doctor Rebuffs White House Public Forum Invitation

A Seattle physician Dr Abraham Bergman declined a White House forum invite saying the event serves President Ford’s re election drive. Bergman in a letter to Vice President Nelson Rockefeller called the forum a huge public relations charade. The pediatrician at Children’s Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle questioned the forum’s political aims.
