Three Broadmeadows inmates still at large after escape

Navy orders more rocket launchers from indicted firm

The Navy ordered a large supply of 2.75 inch rocket launchers from Alsco Inc of St Louis, a company under federal indictment for alleged kickbacks on prior launcher contracts. The Pentagon listed a $5 042 549 modification to an existing contract and said new bids for two launcher contracts were due December 19 with two awards expected in January 1969 and deliveries starting next August.
