IRVING Texas Pleasant man Frank St Claire a top state's witness in a puzzling murder killed himself last night to possibly complicate Oklahoma's case of the unknown corpse. St Claire a smiling used car salesman former associate of David Hagler Jr Fort Worth charged with murder in the Oklahoma torch slaying. A charred body was found Oct 10 near Davis Oklahoma in a burning station wagon Hagler had borrowed from his ex wife. St Claire 47 found shot to death in his garage told Oklahoma officers Hagler planned to buy a body from a morgue for 500 and burn it as part of an insurance swindle. The 200000 swindle sounded like a joke to him and he paid no mind. A .38 revolver was found near St Claires body minutes after Mrs St Claire discovered it. A justice of the peace returned a death by own action verdict. Sheriff s Deputy Harry Weatherford quoted a neighbor saying he appeared despondent mid afternoon saying life was getting too much for him.

Police say the boy claimed the rifle accidently discharged while he watched TV and toyed with a .30 caliber gun.
