She killed a large eight point buck about 12:15 PM after a mile from camp, signaled friends, and stood over the trophy. Fire at Formica home saved by Indiana Wire Department
Firefighters arrived about 8 30 Saturday night to halt a blaze in the northwest bulding corner of North Sixth street and Clymer avenue. The fire originated from a leaking gas pipe, with Mrs Formica away shopping. The west half of the house was consumed while east section suffered smoke and water damage. Estimated loss 1100, partly insured. The property, once Col Paige home, was famed for its florist gardens and lawn.

Earth slide in Carnegie buries workers. one dead
In Pittsburgh area Carnegie suburb an earth slide trapped three men in a 16 foot sewer trench for three hours. George Carminucci, 40, of Carnegie died. Highway work officially closed on Benjamin Franklin Highway
B R Finn district construction engineer for the Department of Highway announced that construction of the concrete pavement on the James and Nicholson Construction Company contract east of town has been officially closed for the year. Three miles more of pavement would have closed the gap between Indiana and Belsano. Finn will begin cinder the subgrade on the unfinished section so the highway can be used during winter months.

Illegal deer recovery and questionable shots reported
County Game Warden Louis Litz inger and Game Protector C. H. Corp of Homer City arrived from Clearfield county with an illegal buck and a dove. The buck was shot by a Dixon Run Camp member in Madeira Pa after a last drive and was turned over to the warden. It is unknown who shot the dove. The two deer were delivered to the Indiana hospital.

Chinese pirates duel aboard British ship near Hong Kong

Howard H. Moorhead aged about 74, eldest son of the late A. T. Moorhead, formerly of Indiana, died Saturday at his home in Everson, Pa. He served as Justice of the Peace there for years and is survived by his widow and several children. Burial will be in Everson Tuesday afternoon.

Ten Injured In Auto Crash Near Blairsville
Fourteen people were injured yesterday when a northbound sedan traveling from Pittsburgh to Indiana swerved, hit a tree near the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburgh line three miles south of Indiana.
